  • Can I arrange same-day pickup for my vehicle?

    YES. In most areas we can arrange to have your vehicle picked up on the same day you want it transported if you call by 10:00 a.m. to schedule the pick-up. Next-day pick-up can be scheduled with 24 hours notice. Just call live customer service 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 1-888-886-3456 to make arrangements. Keep in mind that vehicles scheduled with such short notice do cost more than a regularly scheduled transport.

  • Can I leave my vehicle some place on the pick-up or delivery end?

    FISHER SHIPPING will try to find a local terminal where your vehicle can be stored while awaiting pick-up and/or delivery. An additional storage fee will apply.

  • Can I pack things in my vehicle?

    This is one of the most common auto transport frequently asked questions.  Anything you pack in your vehicle should be locked securely in the trunk and cannot exceed 75 pounds in total weight. Keep in mind that YOU are responsible for anything you have packed in your vehicle, including any insurance coverage.

  • Do I have to be there when you pick up or deliver my vehicle?

    YES! It is important for you or an individual you designate to be present at both the pick-up and delivery points. You need to inspect your vehicle(s) carefully at BOTH points of the transport process. Unless you make note of any damage or flaws in the car that exist pre- and post-delivery, you do not have a basis for a damage claim. Always ask the carrier for a copy of the inspection report ON PICKUP AND DELIVERY.

  • How do I check the status of my order?

    That’s easy! You can email us at any time or reach live customer service 7 days a week between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.

  • How far in advance should I schedule the transport?

    It makes sense to schedule your car shipping as early as possible to make sure your planned delivery time can be met. If an immediate pick-up is necessary, we can usually make arrangements within 24 hours.

  • How long does the transport take?

    Although shipping times depend on the individual transporters, some typical times are: 7-10 days Coast-to-Coast, 3-6 days North/South, 4-7 days Midwest to Coast. Weather conditions, mechanical breakdowns and other factors can create delays. We will always keep you in the loop when we have any information regarding a delay.

  • Is my deposit refundable?

    Your deposit will be refunded only if you cancel your order more than TWO days in advance of the scheduled pick-up date.

  • Is my quote for door to door auto transport?

    We guarantee that the driver will get as close to your door as possible. Since carriers are generally very large vehicles, there must be enough room at your delivery site for off-loading and turn-around. The condition of your vehicle is our first concern, so we make sure drivers avoid delivery in areas where long-hanging branches or other impediments could endanger your car. Also, some cities have restrictions on where large trucks are allowed, especially in dense residential sections. When door-to-door is not possible, we’ll work with you to make sure your vehicle is delivered at a location for your maximum convenience-like a nearby spacious parking lot.

  • Is my vehicle insured?

    FISHER SHIPPING protects your vehicle by acting as the Certificate Holder on every cargo policy for EVERY carrier we work with. We also carry a contingent cargo policy for $500,000, just in case a carrier’s policy is cancelled while your vehicle is on their truck.

  • What are my payment options?

    If you are a private customer transporting a vehicle, we will usually take a credit card deposit when we schedule the vehicle. The remaining balance due must be made in cash, cashier’s check or postal money order on delivery. No credit cards or personal checks are accepted for final payment on delivery.

    We will work with you if other arrangements are necessary.

  • What if my vehicle gets damaged?

    In the highly unlikely chance that your vehicle sustains damage in transport, you must be sure to note it on the Bill of Lading and have the driver sign that form. Claims cannot be processed by the driver’s insurance company if damage is not noted at the time of delivery. We will also need pictures of any damage. FISHER SHIPPING personnel are professionally trained to guide you through any claims processes.

  • What is an oversize fee?

    Because of the extraordinary dimensions of some vehicles, (e.g., full-size SUV’s, large pickup trucks, commercial vehicles) more room is needed to accommodate them on the carrier. Using room normally required for more than one passenger vehicle results in an oversize fee, which FISHER SHIPPING personnel will explain to you. There will be no surprises!

  • Will my vehicle be driven?

    Your vehicle will be driven only to load it on and off of the truck. The Bill of Lading (your pick-up and delivery inspection form) verifies mileage on your vehicle. Make sure you write the mileage in if the driver doesn’t.
