If this is you first time moving a car, you've come to the right place. Here are some things you need to know about shipping your vehicle with us:
Door to Door Service: What this means is that the driver will call ahead to make sure if there is enough room in your neighborhood/place of business for him to properly load/unload your vehicle. The other thing we are concerned with is low hanging branches. We don't want vehicles on top of the truck getting damaged due to trees. If there is not enough space the driver will have you meet him in a shopping plaza or truck stop near your destination.
Is your car insured? Yes! Once your car touches the car carrier's trailer it is insured in the hands of the trucking company. We only use quality, safe, reliable, and insured drivers to haul our vehicles. Fisher Shipping Company is listed as a certificate holder on every carrier's cargo policy.
In the event of damage, please notify us immediately so we can take the proper steps to aid you in the claim process. We have a dedicated member of our team with over 20 years experience in the insurance industry to help you during the process. IMPORTANT NEWS: Fisher Shipping Company has gone above and beyond and has taken out a Contingent Cargo Policy. This means that in the event that one of our carrier's insurance lapses, our Contingent Policy will cover you. This will give you even more peace of mind when choosing Fisher Shipping Company to ship your vehicle
Vehicle Inspection on Pickup and Delivery: Once our carrier arrives to pick up your vehicle, you will need to properly fill out an inspection report on the vehicle and get a copy from the driver. Please make sure your vehicle is cleaned beforehand to accurately fill out the inspection report. You and the driver will walk around your car, check for dents, dings, scratches, or chips in paint, and then note it on the inspection report. You will fill out another inspection report when they deliver the car. It is very important that you do a thorough job when filling out the delivery inspection. If there is damage and you don't note it on the inspection report on delivery, there will be virtually no chance of getting a claim paid.
Can you pack your vehicle with personal stuff? Yes. You may pack your vehicle with personal stuff. It is highly recommended that you do NOT pack to much stuff or anything of high value. The biggest thing to remember is that your car is insured, but the items in the car are not. The vehicle cannot be packed with more than 75 pounds and all items must be in the trunk. If you plan to exceed this number, please contact us for pricing.
